Walk description:

As you go into Holsworthy on the A3072 you will see a T junction where Fore Street and North Road meet. You will see the Church in front of you, just before you get to the main road you need to turn right into Manor car park.

You will see the Memorial Hall and Tourist Information Centre in front of you and the Museum to your left.

From the car park walk with the Museum on your left to the back of the car park and towards Martins Newspaper shop. You will come across a slope down to Victoria Hill. Turn left on Victoria hill and then turn left into Sanctuary Road, you will see a footpath between two trees. The kerb here is slightly raised.

Follow the path round to start of footpath by rear of Community School. After approximately 20 yards turn right along footpath - there are metal railings around the school which should now be on your left. Follow this path until you get to the footbridge going over Victoria Hill road and proceed to Holsworthy Leisure Centre. Go through the Car Park with the leisure centre on your left, past the scout and guide headquarters and on to the slope. The railings are sign-posted “Sustrans cycle Route 3”. Go over the bridge which goes over Sanders Lane and follow the path round by side of swings. The play park will be on your right.

Bear right following the "Route 3" sign and then bear left past the old pavilion, which will be on your right and then onto the gate into Old Showground field. If the weather is particularly wet you can choose not to go into the field as the walk comes back to this gate, wheelchairs may also struggle with the field terrain. Go through gate into field, bear left and follow path round in a clockwise circular direction around field, returning back to gate.

Go back into the Park but bear right around footpath that goes in front of Bowls Club and continue back to entrance to the Holsworthy Leisure Centre Car Park. Retrace steps back over the two bridges to Sanctuary Road into Victoria Hill and into Manor Car Park.

Additional notes:

There are several cafes and bars that you chose from.

There are toilets (one disabled) on the road opposite the church.

This is a pleasant stroll around Holsworthy. The terrain is good except for the part where it leads you into
the Old show ground which an optional part of the walk. There are some slopes on the route which are steep but
short.

Manor Car Park which is the start of the walk, is next to the small town centre.
