This circular walk around Overton Lake takes you throught the heart of Ferry Meadows Country Park.

By following the edge of the lake you'll also see a wealth of wildlife on and around the water as well as on the fields and woodlands you pass by.

Additional notes:

Ferry Meadows Country Park is the heart of the Nene Park and boasts a vast range of facilities for all the family. With beautiful lakes, river, meadow and woodlands as the setting it is a favourite all year round destination with the local community and visitors alike.

Within its 500 acres visitors can enjoy the Park’s natural surroundings on foot, bicycle or horseback on the extensive path network, much of which is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs – electric and manual ones are available to hire at the Park. You can also bring a picnic or barbeque, fishing rod to fish from the many pegs available on the lakes and river throughout the year, and with two large open meadows you can even bring kits, balls and other outdoor games for a fun day out.

For those looking for more formal facilities the Park has two family friendly cafes, including one licensed bar – both of which can cater for groups and events. Lakeside Watersports centre offers hire and tuition in windsurfing, canoeing and other small boats as well as a cycle hire facility and Poshboatz operates an open top boat tour around the main lake if you fancy something more relaxed.

Children are well catered for with three play areas around the Park designed for all ages and miniature railway rides to get those smaller legs that bit further around the Park.

A host of events covering all age groups and interests are held at Ferry Meadows throughout the year by the park rangers and other organisations. These have included Cancer Research Race for Life, Kite Festival and Firework Fiesta.
