Walk description:

From Sandford drive along the A351 towards Wareham. Drive into Wareham along the North Causeway. Once you have parked your car, walk along South street toward the Quay.

When you get to where the the bridge starts, cross over, and the walk start at the beginning of Abbotts Way. Walk along Abbots way, and on your left is the River Frome.

At the end of Abbotts way, turn right and walk up a slight slope, along Tanner Lane. At the end of Tanners Lane you will see the Rectory of Lady St. Mary parish church.

Turn left and walk along Pound lane. On your left you will walk past Castle Cove which used to be the site of Wareham Castle.

Walk all the way to the end of Pound Street. On the left is the Town Pound. Opposite is the start of the Wall Walk. Up to this point of the walk there has been no pavement. You have to walk along fairly quiet streets of Wareham.

At the end of Pound Street turn right, and walk along West Street. Walk across Trinity Street and continue walking along West Street. On your left you will see the Rex Cinema. Keep walking until you get to the crossroads. Cross over at the crossing. If you turn left you can walk along North Street until you come to St Martin church on your right.

When you have seen St Martin church retrace your steps back to the crossroads. On the corner of East street which is the turning on your left you will see the Town Hall. Just past this is the Town Museum. From the Museum retrace your steps to the crossroads. On your left opposite the Town Hall you will see the Almshouses.

Back at the crossroad, turn left and walk along South Street. Walk past the Lloyds Bank and the Manor House. On the opposite side of the road is Wareham Conservative Club.

Keep walking along South Street, past The Bear Hotel. Just past here turn left into St John's Hill. You will see a sign post for Wall Walk and Lady St Margaret church.

Follow the path towards the church. When you get to the church green in front of the church turn right, and walk along a pathway to the Quay. This is the end of the walk.
