Walk description:

From Weymouth head along the A354 towards Portland. You will see brown signs for Nothe garden which will take you up Rodwell Road and along Rodwell Avenue.

Nothe Garden is positioned at a stunning location on a promontory overlooking both Weymouth and Portland Harbours.

There are three pay and display areas for car parking. The cafe is at the entrance to the gardens, and has a terrace where tables and chairs are set out during the summer for customers.

There is a vast array of trees, established shrub beds and winding paths. The terrain is tarmac and is slightly uneven in places. The large grassed area is great for ball games. Alternately you can walk down to Newton Cove, which is at the foot of the gardens. The seashore is a fun place for children to go crabbing in the rock pools.

A small Wall's Ice Cream hut, located at the entrance to Newton's Cove, sells hot drinks and ice creams to passing trade.

The public toilets are positioned in the centre of the gardens and are open all year round.

The gardens are mainly accessible by buggies and wheelchair although there is limited access to some of the lower paths. However if you follow the tarmac path around from the entrance it continues down a very gentle slope to Newton Cove.

Additional notes:

Just before you get to the first car park there is a public house that has a beer garden and sells food.
