Walk description:

Flitch way is a disused railway track which stretches for 15 miles from Braintree to Bishop's Stortford. This walk will take you as far as Great Dunmow.

Parking can be found at the Braintree Train Station. Walk towards the station and South Street and start your walk. Simply stay on the track until you reach Great Dunmow or turn around when you feel you have walked enough.


Additional notes:

The path has recently been resurfaced to make it easier for all users. It is worth noting that the path is also used by cyclist and horse riders.

You are able to get refreshments in Great Dunmow).

This has been recommended but as yet has not been tested by a registered user.

There is a bus service from so you could walk one way and catch the bus back.

Toilets and further information can be found at Rayne Station. This is just a short distance from Braintree.
