Walk description:

Birnie and Gaddon Lochs are located between the A91 and B937 roads near the village of Collessie. They were man-made from former sand and gravel workings. The walk circumnavigates both lochs, which are surrounded by open grassland and woodlands. The lochs are a perfect spot for walking and bird watching. There are picnic tables at the car park. The variety of birdlife to be seen includes wigeon, goosander, redshank, lapwing and oystercatcher. Other wildlife to watch for includes otter, vole, Pipistrelle bat and red squirrell.

Additional notes:

The path surface is good but can be muddy, with pot holes in wet weather. Gaddon Loch may be closes in the breeding season. Fife Animal Park next door has a restaurant and disabled toilet.
