Walk description:

Just after you turn into Coley Way there is parking on the right. You will see signs for West Down here. Park the car and then cross Coley road and you will see a wooden signpost for the Test Way. Go down a compact mud path, and walk along and you will come to a T Junction.

From here you have two options. Turn right and walk along a compact path for about a mile until you join a quiet road. This is a peaceful walk, and I was aware of a lot of birds singing. Then turn around and either walk back to the car, or take the path to the left.

When you turn left walk under a bridge and then walk along the path. You will be walking along side the river. I walked for about a mile and then tuned around. If you wish you can keep walking. This part of the walk has lovely views across the river, but there is a lot of noise from the traffic on your left.

Additional notes:

When walking along you will see lots of wildlife. Horse riders also use the track.

When wet the path can be very muddy which will make the route more difficult.

Afterwards when you have finished your walk there is a lovely pub called the Mayfly. It is situated just after the turning for Coley Lane. It has seating outside right next to the river.

Children are welcome in the pub. There are also disabled toilet situated here.
