Walk description:

Turn into Coley Way, and then take the first turning on your left down Joys lane. Drive all the way to the end of Joys Lane. You will see a large gate in front of you. Go right just before the gate and you will come to parking on your right.

From the car park, walk through the wooden posts on a compact stone path. You will now walk along a compact stone and grass path. Walk along the path and you will come to a wooden bridge. Just before the bridge is a shallow area of the river, which is where children can paddle. However take care, as there is a strong current a little way in.

Walk over the bridge. There is a small lip on and off the bridge. Once over the bridge you can walk around the common. I turned left and walked along a worn pathway in the grass. I walked around the edge of the common all the way to the river at the opposite end. I then walked back up to the bridge at the beginning of the walk.

The terrain is on a slight slope and is uneven in places. It is more suitable for an all terrain buggy.

Once back to where I parked the car, I walked along the compact stone path to the gate at the entrance. I turned right and walked along to the recreation ground. This is a large grass area, which is ideal for ball games.

Additional notes:

This is a lovely walk that is so peaceful. It is a lovely place for a picnic.

When wet the ground can be muddy in places.
