Emsworth to Warblington

LOCALITY: Emsworth, Hampshire
DISTANCE: 2.5 miles (4.02 km)
FACILITIES: There & back, Parking, Toilets, Pub, Cafe

GRADIENT: Mostly flat
TERRAIN: Hard
OS MAP: Chichester

Walk description:

Park in the main car park of Emsworth off of South Street. RADAR disabled toilet by entrance.
Follow South Street south to the hard then carry straight on to the causeway and along The Promenade. When The Promenade turns northward follow the footpath by the yacht club, this brings you out on to the sea wall.
Follow the sea wall until it disolves then follow the foreshore, can be very rough. Carry on around past Conigar Point. After the Solent Way comes back to the foreshore via a metal kissing gate watch out for a green lane leaving the foreshore in a northerly direction, follow this. This takes you up to Pook Lane, turn right then right again into Church Lane. Follow Church Lane to Warblington Church and Cemetary - disabled toilet in cemetary but NOT RADAR. Return via same route with optional variations throught the woods east of Conigar Point and round the Mill Pond at Emsworth making a total distance of 5.5 miles.

Additional notes:

Don't forget to CHECK TIDE TIMES. This walk is very tough going on the foreshore, keep to the more compacted surface to stop wheels embedding in the gravel. I have done this walk with my 4 wheel mobility scooter without requiring assistance. All facilities are in Emsworth, only a disabled toilet at Warblington if open.
