Walk description:

Start your walk from the Elmore car park, which you will see as you drive in to Lee-on-the Solent. The walk starts at the opposite end of the car park. Proceed west along the promenade. This is a red path, that has really good view over The Solent. On a clear day you can see The Isle Of Wight.

Walk along the Promenade and you will come to a large car park on your right. This could be alternative parking if you did not wish to walk as far. You will then cone to a small Skate Park. Next to this is a caf, which has pool tables in it and amusements next door. The entrance to the caf has a step so wheelchair users may need to enter the caf via the amusements. Alternatively there are seats outside the caf.

Just past the caf there is a short steep slope. If you are in a wheelchair you may need a able body pusher. Once up the slope there is a seating area that has views over the Solent. Next you need to go down a small slope. At the bottom of the slope there is a slope on your right up to the toilets. There are disabled toilets here, but you need a radar key. There is also more parking next to the toilet.

Continue along the path. There are two paths here. The top path has seats. However at the end of the top path before it joins the lower path again there are steps. So you will need to retace your steps if you have walked along here, and rejoin the lower path.

Continue along the path and you will come to another caf. Next to this is the Pirates Cove Play area. Continue on and walk past green beach huts. Just passed these are more toilets on your right. There are steps up to these so will not suit everyone. Walk past these and you will get to the slipway. From here turn around and retrace your steps to where you parked the car.

Additional notes:

There is a small charge for the public car parks.

The beach is made up of small shingle.

Walks With Buggies User Reviews

lovely views

This is a lovely walk along the Solent. The terrain is good but there are a couple of slope that some
wheelchair users with manual pushers may find a little difficult. The Pirates cove play area is well kept and
worth a visit if you have a toddler with you.
