The Jubilee trail

LOCALITY: Lyndhurst, Hampshire
DISTANCE: 1 miles (1.61 km)
FACILITIES: Parking

GRADIENT: Quite steep in places
TERRAIN: Medium
OS MAP: New Forest

Walk description:

This trail first takes you from the car park to the Radnor Stone. From here the trail heads into the arboretum. Unfortunately a large number of trees were lost in the Great Storms of 1987 and 1991 but many new trees have been planted and more will be planted over the coming years. The trail finally leads you past the deer observation platform where you can often see a herd of fallow deer.

Additional notes:

This circular route has a fairly smooth gravelled surface, leading you past the deer-viewing platform into the Bolderwood Arboretum. There are several medium to steep graded paths, although there are frequent resting stops along the way, with one gate into the enclosure.
