Walk description:

This walk starts from the Car Park off of Sussex Road, the B2146, in Petersfield. It is easy to follow as it circumnavigates the lake, known as Heath Pond. This route is mainly a gravel surface. At the westerly point, where it runs parallel with the B2146, there is a choice between using the boardwalk round the edge of the water or using the pavement, there after the path is unsurfaced under the trees and there are a few tree roots to avoid - all part of the adventure. This path is called the Millennium Trail.

Additional notes:

When the weather is good, especially in the summer, the refreshments hut, half way round, will probably be open. Also when the weather conditions are right you can hire row boats for the lake. There is a childrens play area next to the refreshments hut as well as toilets including a radar key disabled toilet. Swans, ducks and coots are regularly sighted (and fed) and sometimes herons, cormorants and great crested grebes are spotted. Also a favourite with fishermen (licence required).

Well worth a visit

A lovely walk around a well kept pond, that is suitable for wheelchairs and buggies. It is worth taking a
picnic with you, and sitting and enjoying the views across the pond.

A good place for children

You can park near the route and take a buggy all the way around. They have just re-done the toddler area in
the play park as well. There is plenty there to keep children amused.
