Fleetwood is bound on three sides by water: the River Wyre to the east, Morecambe Bay to the north and the Irish Sea to the west. This coastal walk around the town is about two miles long, with plenty of places to rest and have refreshments.

Come off the M55 at Junction 3, follow the A585 into Fleetwood and follow signs for the sea front.

Start your walk at Pharos Street and walk towards Queens Terrace.

At Queens Terrace turn right and head down the street. You will come across Victoria Stret on your right. Turn down here and keep walking until you reach Lords Street on your left.

Walk down Lords street until you reach London Road on your right. Walk all the way down towards The Mount. Take a left and follow the road around past the Marine Gardens and then on towards the sea. You will now be on the Esplanade.

Walk along the Esplanade with the sea on your left until you reach North Albert street on your right. This will take you back to the starting point.

Additional notes:

Its a gentle, hard-paved route, so you dont need to be a champion powerwalker to do it. It does involve crossing main roads. so please be aware of the general traffic, including the trams. Use zebra crossings where you can.

You can park for free near the North Euston Hotel. There are plenty of trams and buses to get to the start of this walk.
