Walk description:

Start your walk from the market place in the town centre. You will see a shopping centre called Woolsgate.

Head down the High Street towards the church, turn left into Langdale Gate. Go down the road until you reach the Buttercross. Turn right at the end of the road and go over the pelican crossing. Go left heading up Witan Way and then turn right onto the bridleway towards Cogges.

Cross the river Windrush and go through the kissing gate. The footpath will then take you to the left across fields. Follow the path over Langel Common. Continue straight on until you reach a road. Cross the road and then follow the footpath throughout the housing to the main road. (B4022)

Turn left and walk down the main road until you reach the pedestrian crossing. Cross the road and turn left, heading towards the roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout into Woodgreen Hill. Take the second road on the left and then turn left again onto New Yatt Road.

Walk to the end of the road passing Bluecoat School at the end of the road. Turn right into West End which is the B4022. You will pass Millers Mew on the left. Keep going along West End and before you get to the mini roundabout just after house number 75 turn left down the lane.

After a short while head left and follow the path over the cattle grid and into the water meadows. The footbridge will cross Upper Windrush, take this path through the housing and over Mill Street. Head into Puck Lane and then take the first right called Gloucester Place.

Walk to the end of Gloucester Place and you will find yourself back on the High Street.

Time to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat!

Additional notes:

There are three car parks in the town centres, all with designated disabled parking bays.

Toilets can be found at Langdale Gate and in the Welch Way car park. Both have adapted toilets and baby changing facilities.

There are several places to stop for refreshments.

Most of this walk is tarmaced, apart from 50 yards where the it is unsurfaced. It is however even and compacted.
