Walk description:

The trail starts at the Pier in Kinross. The path goes through Kirkgate Park, past an old graveyard with a watchtower. There are views across to Loch Leven Castle at the end of the churchyard. Kinross House and Gardens is to the left. There is a short path to the right leading to an accessible bird hide. Continue on past Mary's Gate following the path to Burleigh Sands. There are views across to Benarty and Bishop Hill. The path continues through woodland out to Pow Burn, where it ends. Return the same way. Walk leaflets are available at the cafe at the pier.

Additional notes:

The area is well known for its bird life and is wildlife sensitive so visitors should take care and go quietly. Dogs should be kept under close control. Further sections of this path are in the planning stages. The next section will go from Levenmouth to Vane Farm RSPB centre. The path will eventually circle right round the loch.
