Walk description:

NB. There is a small section of the route that is walking on a road that has no pavement and can be a little busy so please be careful. The walk starts from the car park at the corner of Prigg Lane and St. James Street. Come out of the car park and cross over Prigg Lane, Roundwell Street and Harvey's Road. Turn down South Stree and walk all the way along South Street until you reach Cole Lane. Turn left into Cole Lane and walk to the top of the road. At the top turn left and walk along Hayes End and walk all the way along Hayes End until you reach Harvey's Road. At the crossroads continue ahead on Lightgate Road (careful as this stretch doesn't have a pavement and can be a little busy). Take the first turning on the right and walk up Lightgate Lane. Walk all the way to the top and continue in the footpath ahead. Then turn immediately left into St. Michael's Gardens and follow the road round the dog leg and continue ahead. Follow the road as it turns to the right at the top and then follow the road all the way back down to Lightgate Road. Turn right here and follow to the end of Lightgate Road and cross over Silver Street and then turn left. Follow Silver Street downhill and then slightly uphill to St. James Street. When you have reached St. James Street, turn left and follow St. James Street all the way back to the car park.

Additional notes:

There are pubs and cafes in South Petherton if you should wish to enjoy any refreshments.
