South Norwood Country Park Guided Health Walk

Walk description:

Every Wednesday, starting at 11am from South Norwood Leisure Centre.

Cross over the road into Sandown Road and follow to the end. Turn right and cross over again until you get to the entrance to South Norwood Country Park.

Follow path past the tram track and carry on straight down with the Visitor Centre on your left. Go past the Pitch & Putt course and follow around to the left.

Take the left and fork which runs around the perimeter of the P&P course and to the end. Turn right and when the paths meet, carry on to the left. At the end turn right with the pond on your right. Half way along the path is a platform over looking the pond.

Follow the path keeping the pond on your right until you come to a cross roads. Take the second path to the left and follow all the way around until you come to the playing fields.

Enter the playing fields and walk along the perimeter until you get back on to the original path. Follow up a slight hill until you get back to the tram track.

Follow your original footsteps back to the Leisure Centre.


Additional notes:

Toilet facilities at the Leisure Centre and there is a Cafe on Portland Road where many walkers often end up.

Look out for the Kestrels in the Country Park, with their box up in trees near the platform over looking the pond.

Bring some bread and feed the ducks, geese and swans.
