The old railway will take you all the way to Chiseldon, but you can make it as long or short as you like.

Start your walk in Marlborough. Park on Elcot Lane alongside the football field. Walk with the fields on your left down Elcot Lane. You will pass Barrow Close on your left and then Elcot Close on your right. Go underneath the railway bridge and then immediately right into Barnfield. As you walk up the hill there is the entrance to the track. It is also a cycle path so look for the sign.

Turn right and keep walking.

Additional notes:

You can park alongside the road by the football fields in Elcot Lane.

This is a few minutes walk from the entrance to the railway track.

There are various viewpoints along the way with benches to rest on. You could either walk all the way along the track or simply turn around when you get tired.

I did a section of this walk from Marlborough to Ogbourne, and back to marlborough. It was a very pleasant
walk but was fairly muddy in places.
