Pewsey Wharf Canal Walk

LOCALITY: Pewsey, Wiltshire
DISTANCE: 2 miles (3.22 km)
FACILITIES: There & back, Parking, Toilets, Pub

GRADIENT: Mostly flat
TERRAIN: Hard
OS MAP: Marlborough & Savernake Forest

Walk description:

From the Pewsey Wharf car park head right towards Wootton Rivers. You will need to go through a gate which is very easy to do with just one person.

Keep walking until you get to the second bridge. If you have an explorers map you will see the second bridge is situated by a trout farm.

Turn around and walk back to the car park.

Additional notes:

There is a car park which costs 1 for up to 4 hours. This is applicable 7 days a week. The car park is situated on the A345 Marlborough to Pewsey road just north of the village

The walk is mainly flat however it is a bit bumpy in places so may not be ideal for very young babies. The path starts off as gravel but soon turns to grass. This is fine for all terrain buggies but some lighter weight pushchairs would struggle. It can also get a bit muddy so worth doing on a dry day.
