GRADIENT: Mostly flat

Walk description:

Traveling on the Great Western Way (A3102) in Swindon we parked at the Mannington Retail Park, SN5 8WA. As many of the outlets have now shut down there were plenty of spare spaces.

With your back to the retail park cross the road and start walking back towards where you entered the retail park. You will see a blue sign for the Cycle Route 45.

Follow this cycle path all the way to Blagrove Industrial Park - as long as you don't leave the park you can't go wrong.

The path is entirely tarmac which makes it ideal for all pushchairs, buggies and wheelchairs.

Additional notes:

This is a cycle route so watch out for those going quite fast if your older toddlers are taking bikes with them or if they are running free!

The Cycle Route is following the Great Western Way, so although you are away from the road you can hear it - I would say that the benefit of having a smooth path and the chance for older children to run free outweighs the noise.

If you wanted to break this walk up with a stop at a soft play centre you can walk to Kidz Aloud - for more information please refer to their web site ( http://www.kidzabout.com/home.html) This was ideal for my daughter and even better they had a Star Bucks for me!
