Walk description:

The Rodwell trail is a Walking/cycyling path that runs from the start of abbotsbury road to the portland beach road you will notice that it once was an old railway line that used to run to the isle of portland there is near by car parking in the swannery cap park over the westham bridge and underpass pedestrian/wheelchair access to the car park and abbotsbury road also there are oher car parks in the vicinity. along the trail their are numerous paths some are steep some are not so steep to visit shops,chemists and an chippy on buxton road, further along the trail signposted just 200 yards from the trail down a sloping road there is the gardens and ruins of sandsfoot castle with access to the gardens also there is a cafe and toilets the cafe has a few steps to the hut and the toilet has 2 steps and is not a disabled toilet upon coming out of the gardens turning left going passed the slope for the trail there is a very small beach with is worth a view as you can see the beautiful backdrop of the isle of portland going back to the trail and carrying on you will soon see the isle of portland with its shingles beach on the right and the portland sailing academy home of the london 2012 Olympics
