Walk description:

To access this walk I went down Grove Street, and then turned left back along Spring Garden Road. I walked along here, went under the bridge, until I came to the walk along side the river. This part of the walk is along two quiet roads as the pavements are too narrow for buggies or wheelchairs.

At the start of this walk is a small caf. Buggies can get into the caf but there is one step into it. Space is limited. There are seats out side along a narrow walkway, but again the space is limited.

At the start of the walk you will come to a weir. Walk past the weir and you will come to another bridge. Walk under the bridge and you will walk past the cricket ground on your left.

Walk past the cricket ground and you will come to a quiet road. Cross the road and walk straight on. For wheelchair users, there is a high kerb to get on to the pavement, so if unable to manage, you will have to go along the road for a short distance.

Walk along Spring Garden Road until you rejoin the river walk. You will continue along this path until just before you come to Rossiter Road. Just before you come to Rossiter Road there is a steep down hill slope, that continues the walk along the Riverside.

Unfortunately the entrance was closed due to maintenance work when I got there. There was an alternative walk on the other side of the path that went goes along side the canal.

From here I turned around and retraced my steps.

Additional notes:

A lovely riverside walk.

Parkimg and toilets are near by in the town.
