Walk description:

From Crewkerne drive along the A30 until you get to Chard. As you enter Chard turn right into Oaklands Road. If you come to the mini roundabout with Tesco on your left you have gone to far. For Sat. Nav. users the postcode is TA20 1HB.

Drive into Oaklands Road and follow it all the way to the end, where you can drive into a free car park.

The walk starts from the sign that says the Access Trail starts here. Walk to the end of the path and you will come to a narrow road. Cross the road and go through the gate opposite.

Follow the path around to the left until you come to a fork in the path. Go straight on and follow the path straight on until you come to another fork in the path. Keep going straight on until you come to a bird hide which is a look out to observe the birds on the reservoir. Continue past the bird hide and continue walking until you come back to the fork inthe track that you had just walked by. Walk back up the path until you come back to the first fork in the route that you came too.

Turn left and continue walking along the path until you come to a gate that says no dogs. Go through this gate and follow the path until you get to the anglers car park.

From here you turn around and walk back up the path to the begining of the trail.

Additional notes:

If you want to make the walk longer you can go out of the anglers car park, turn left and follow the road along until you come to your first turning on your left. Go down this turning (Touches Lane), and walk along until you come back to the trail at the beginning of the walk where you entered the reserve. Go through the gate on your right and walk back to where you started the walk. This adds a further mile to the walk. This part of the walk is on the road with no pavements.
