Walk description:

A lovely walk utilising the cycle path to get out of Ilmister and away from the roads. The cycle path is part of the World War Two defences, The Stop Line Way. Look out for the dragons teeth and the disused railway. The walk starts from the Wharf Lane car park. Come out of the car park and go back to Canal Way and cross at the pedestrian and turn right to walk along Canal Way along the cycle path. Cross over by the entrance to the medical centre. Continue along Canal Way then when the cycle path turns off to the left continue to follow the cycle path and continue until you reach the disused station. Here take the footpath off to the right to loop back round to the road that runs in front of a small number of houses and back to the cycle path. Retrace your steps back to Canal Way and back to the Wharf Lane car park.
