Strolling through Urchfont

LOCALITY: Urchfont, Wiltshire
DISTANCE: Less than 1 mile (1.61km)
FACILITIES: Circular route, Parking, Pub

GRADIENT: Mostly flat
OS MAP: Salisbury & Stonehenge

Walk description:

Park your car on the high street opposite the Post Office.

Head down the high street with the Post Office on your right. You will pass The Orchard on your left. Straight ahead you will see the duck pond.

Head right, passing Friars Lane on your left. You will come out by the main road (B3098). Head right towards the Lavingtons.

Take the next turning on the right called the Paddocks. You will see signs for a public footpath - follow this path. You will have to negotiate a steel post at the end of the path, which was fine with an all terrain buggy. I would not recommend taking a wide pram on this walk.

You will find yourself back out on the high street just down from the Post Office.

Additional notes:

There is a lovely pub by the Post Office which serves food.

The parking is free.

If taking small children on the walk, take some bread to feed the ducks.
